Scientific illustrations of puffing snake relatives.

Though not strictly depicting Spilotes sulphureus, I couldn't help but post these scientific illustrations of Spilotes pullatus and Phrynonax poecilonotus. These are from Biologia Centrali-Americana: Reptilia and Batrachia, dated 1902.

This one is a painting attributed to W. Heubach, from Brehms Tierleben (Brehm’s animal life) Vol. 2, by Alfred Edmund Brehm, Leipzig, Vienna, 1913.
